Ten February 2026 Book Releases that I am Looking Forward To
Half City by Kate Golden
February 17, 2026
This is a new fantasy novel that is the first book in the Harker Academy series. It tells the tale of Viv Abbott, a demon hunter looking to hone her skills. Plus it might be nice to get to know others who share her unique set of skills. As Viv begins attending classes, weird things start happening to her classmates. It’s going to be quite the year as she learns more about demon hunting and investigates into the mysterious death of her father.
Without a Clue by Melissa Ferguson

Without a Clue is a new release that’s a combination of mystery and romance. It’s a story that takes place on a cruise ship filled with writers. Described as a cross between Only Murder in the Building and Book Lovers (by Emily Henry), the story focuses on Pip, a personal assistant to a famous writer. When he mysteriously dies on board, Pip must investigate to find out if his death was natural or if there was foul play involved.
Lonesome Ridge by Maisy Yates

This is book 3 in the Rustler Mountain series by Maisy Yates. Rustler Mountain is a popular tourist spot in Oregon, known for it’s Wild West reenactments. In this installment we meet Jessie Jane Hancock. When Jessie decides to run for the town mayor, she needs a first man by her side. She pops the question to Flynn Wilder who agrees to be her fake fiance. But as the story progresses and small town drama ensues, their fake relationship becomes a bit more complicated
*** I’m currently reading an ARC of this from Netgalley and it’s very cute so far! I just might have to go back and read the rest of the series now!
The Astral Library by Kate Quinn
February 17, 2026
How amazing is this book cover? This is the latest book by New York Times bestselling author Kate Quinn. Alexandria “Alix” Watson grew up in foster care. She knows that people come and go, but books will always be there for her.
As a young woman, she spends many evenings reading at the Boston Public Library. She loves to curl up with a good story. But she’s in for a great surprise when she stumbles upon a secret door that leads her to the Librarian, the protector of a hidden library.
The Librarian takes Alix under their wing and all is well. Until they come face to face with a mysterious enemy who threatens the protected library. Alix and the Librarian must travel through different stories in an attempt to protect the books that they love.
Agnes Aubert’s Mystical Cat Shelter by Heather Fawcett
February 17, 2026
If you like cozy fantasy, this might be the book for you! It tells the tale of Agnes Aubert, who manages a cat rescue charity. Her work is important to her. But when she learns the truth about what is going on behind the scenes of the cat sharity, she finds herself face to face with the owner of a dark magic shop, Havelock Renarde. She doesn’t care about Havelock or his magic. She would rather just focus on the animals that need rescuing. But when an enemy of Havelock’s makes himself known, she finds herself thrust into the middle of everything in an attempt to save the cat shelter.
If you enjoy this book, Heather Fawcett is also the author of the emily wilde series.
*** I am SO intrigued by this one. Especially because it takes place in Montreal! I visited Montreal for the first time last year and had such an amazing time.
This Book Made Me Think of You by Libby Page

I’m just going to say it now. The plot of this book sounds like the perfect plot for a romance movie!
Tilly Nightingale is contacted by her local bookstore, because her fiance has left a gift for her there. The only thing is that her fiance passed away 5 months ago. She finds out that her gift is a collection of 12 books. Each one was carefully selected by Joe as a way to help her cope with her first year without him.
As Tilly sets out on her year long reading journey, she vlogs her experiences. She explores different worlds and characters. And throughout the year, she just might learn to love again.
It reminds me of the movie P.S. I love you in a way!
We Were Never Friends by Kaira Rouda

I love a thriller about sorority sisters, so this book sounds right up my alley!
This book is about a group of women who were sisters (Roxy, Amelia, Jamie, Beth, and Sunny) in the Theta Gamma sorority. In this book, they all reunite at Roxy’s vacation home in Palm Springs. They are celebrating that Roxy’s son and Beth’s daughter are engaged. But while these women are sisters, that doesn’t mean that they see eye to eye on everything. Over the course of the vacation, secrets will be revealed. The past doesn’t always stay in the past.
Little One by Olivia Muenter

I have been highly anticipating this book because I loved her debut novel Such a Bad Influence. While her previous book focused on social media and internet culture, this book dives into the story of a fictional cult.
Catharine West is an adult, far removed from the family and the farm that she grew up with. She has peace now. But she also has the memories of what went on during her childhood. When a reporter reaches out to her and wants to ask her some questions, her first instinct is to say no. She would rather not think about how her father was a cult leader.
But sometimes you have to do things you don’t want to do. If Catharine can keep tabs on the reporter, can she can keep some of her darkest secrets from coming out?
Family Drama by Rebecca Fallon

I love the cover of this book! It perfectly captures a big theme in this book, which is the american struggle for women to really have it all. The story is told from different perspectives as readers are introduced to Susan Bliss, a young woman juggling her career as an actress along with motherhood.
As adults, Susan’s twin children try to put together their memories of their mother with truths that they may not be prepared for.
I love stories about families, especially when they are revealed little by little through different timelines. I’m really looking forward to checking this one out this Spring!
Love and Other Brain Experiments by Hannah Brohm

Two brainy exes are reunited in this STEM rivals to lovers romcom. Dr. Frances Silberstein is looking for a job in her field, so she decides to attend a summer conference that will be attended by many scientists. Hopefully she’ll make some connections with others in her field. It sounds great, right? The only problem is that her ex is the one who is organizing the event.
When the two of them are fighting one day, their verbal sparrling is mistaken for flirting. So the two of them decide to keep up the charade and the fake dating for the course of the conference.
I’m a little confused how fake dating at a conference could benefit either of them, but I’m here for it. I love watching characters secretly yearn for each other.
In Conclusion
I hope that you enjoyed today’s list of my most anticipated February 2026 book releases. There are just so many great books coming out this month that I had to narrow it down to ten. But if you have any suggestions or want to share what is on your llist, make sure to leave a comment!
