10 Swoon-Worthy Romantasy Novels (You Haven’t Read Yet)
In the past couple of years, romantasy books have become more and more popular. A combination of romance and fantasy, romantasy is a genre that blends romance and fantasy, featuring love stories set in magical or fantastical worlds. While some series like Fourth Wing (by Rebecca Yarros) and A Court of Thorns and Roses (by Sarah J. Maas) have become wildly popular, other books have not gotten as much attention. In today’s blog post I’m going to be discussing 10 swoon-worthy romantasy novels you probably haven’t read yet.
And if you enjoyed today’s blog post, you can read more romantasy recommendations here.
What are some of the Key Features in a Romantasy Novel?

The Ash Trials by Amy Suto
I had the pleasure of reading an early copy of The Ash Trials near the beginning of 2025, and it might be one of my favorite books of this year. It’s a debut romantasy novel by author and writer Amy Suto.
The deadliest game is remembering who you are.
In the isolated prison of Ashguard where the kingdom’s most dangerous criminals await judgment, one yearly event offers both salvation and destruction: The Ash Trials.
Saffron Vale awakens in an Ashguard cell wearing a ruined wedding dress with no memory of who she is. As the only powerless human competing against murderous shifters and spellcasters, she must survive the six otherworldly trials that transform villains into legends—or she’ll die trying.
Her only allies? A childhood friend turned royal commander and a mysterious assassin who claims she’s the real monster in the prison. As competitors fall and ancient magic stirs, Saffron must uncover the truth: was she truly an innocent bride, or something far more dangerous? (from Amazon.com)
Beyond the Filigree Wall by Melissa Wright
Advertised as an enemies to lovers romance, Beyond the Filigree Wall is about two characters who need each other, but don’t want to admit it. That can certainly make for a dangerous romance, don’t you think?
A dark curse. A deadly secret. The ill-fated girl at the heart of both.
Antonetta Ostwind is about to get everything she’s ever wanted. If all goes to plan, she’ll end the fae, steal back what was stolen, and win the post she’s always dreamed of in time to dress for supper.
There’s just one problem. His name is Gideon Alexander.
Gideon holds the key to her coveted post. He’s fantastic with a sword, looks amazing in uniform, and commands even the adoration of his great, beastly dog. He’s living the life Etta needs.
Gideon doesn’t believe Etta should have any of it. In fact, he’s planning to make sure she never does. And that’s a real problem, because if Etta can’t take her post as marshal, how can she have her vengeance and save the kingdom from the prince of the fae? (from Amazon.com)

When Michael accidentally wakes his childhood sweetheart from her enchanted slumber, he’s confronted with her declaration that it’s true love. The obvious solution? Divorce his wife so they can be together. Now, he faces the choice of his life: does he stick with an imperfect marriage or cut his losses for the sake of “true love”?

A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair
From bestselling author Scarlett St. Clair comes a dark and enthralling reimagining of the Hades and Persephone Greek myth.
“Let me worship you,” he said.
She remembered the words she had whispered to him in the back of the limo after La Rose. “You will worship me, and I won’t even have to order you.” His request felt sinful and devious, and she reveled in it.
She answered, “Yes.”
Persephone is the Goddess of Spring in title only. Since she was a little girl, flowers have only shriveled at her touch. After moving to New Athens, she hoped to lead an unassuming life disguised as a mortal journalist. All of that changes when she sits down in a forbidden nightclub to play a hand of cards with a hypnotic and mysterious stranger.
Hades, God of the Dead, has built a gambling empire in the mortal world and his favorite bets are rumored to be impossible. But nothing has ever intrigued him as much as the goddess offering him a bargain he can’t resist.
After her encounter with Hades, Persephone finds herself in a contract with the God of the Dead, and his terms are impossible: Persephone must create life in the Underworld or lose her freedom forever. The bet does more than expose Persephone’s failure as a goddess, however. As she struggles to sow the seeds of her freedom, love for the God of the Dead grows―a love that is both captivating and forbidden. (from Amazon.com)

As the half faerie daughter of a human king, my days were spent tucked out of sight—until the Seelie Fae sought an alliance with our kingdom. In exchange for my father’s help in defeating their Unseelie enemies, I would wed Atakan the heartless.
The Seelie prince loathed everyone, but none more than me. Throughout the years leading to our nuptials, each encounter grew more terrifying than the last as he demonstrated how he’d earned his infamous reputation.
Fear would only doom me faster. So I learned to hide it with games I soon became happy to play. I wasn’t supposed to crave a monster. But just when I’d thought I might tame the untameable, fate intervened.
