Reading Plans: Volume 1

Reading Plans is a new weekly feature on the blog. I’ll be sharing some of my plans for the upcoming week including what I’ll be reading and what I’m working on with the blog. Let me know what your weekly plans are in the comments section!

Plan With Me

There’s a lot going on at work right now, but I’m trying to keep it together and focus on the positives. Sounds like a good plan, right?

In my personal life, I have a couple of doctor’s appointments this week as well as a community run at the end of the week. It’s my first 5k that I’ve run outside in quite some time so hopefully it goes well. I’m not too concerned because it’s just for fun. I’m still going to my Orangetheory classes and I go to the gym a few times a week as well, so I shouldn’t be too out of shape.

What am I Reading?

I am currently reading Haunting License by Carol J Perry. This is a new release that is coming out in June, but I have an early review copy from Netgalley. It tells the story of Maureen, a new inn owner who must focus on her business, even though she just found a dead body wash up on shore at the beach. I haven’t read a lot of supernatural cozies and so I love that Maureen has a ghost who is haunting her apartment, and the inn in general!

My current audiobook listen is The Women by Kristin Hannah. I’m excited to dive into this one because I recently read The Four Winds and really enjoyed it. This book takes place during the Vietnam War, so I’m sure I will learn a thing or two, as well.

What’s Next on my TBR?

I found out recently that Spotify has some audiobooks available for listeners with a premium subscription! There are some interesting titles, but the one that caught my eye is The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. She’s been a fave of mine since I read Malibu Rising a few years ago so I’m looking forward to listening to that after I complete The Women.

What’s Coming Up on the Blog?

For the past couple of months, I’ve been writing a lot of book reviews for the blog with the intention of building blog traffic and reaching new blog readers.

I’ll share a peek behind the curtain here! I’m definitely picking up traffic, which is great. But I want this blog to be a community so I’m going to be writing more book lists and more personal posts as well. There’s so much to talk about when it comes to reading and books so I want to cover some of these fun (and important) topics as well.

This week you can expect:

  • Monday – Plan with Me
  • Tuesday – Thrift Shopping Book Haul
  • Wednesday – Can’t Wait Wednesday (Hosted by Wishful Endings)
  • Thursday – Where the Crawdads Sing Review
  • Friday – Friday Five (Bookish thoughts & news from around the internet)

What I’m Excited for This Week

  • One of my doctor’s appointments this week is to visit the pulmonologist. I’m hoping they can test me for sleep apnea because I just have not been sleeping well for a long time now. It will be nice to get this issue solved so that I don’t feel so tired all of the time.
  • Spending time outside! It’s finally starting to feel like Spring so I’ve been enjoying my walks outside. My boyfriend and I signed up for the 5k series together and it’s a great way to spend time together.
  • I finally sat down this past weekend to play more Disney Dreamlight Valley on my Nintendo Switch. It’s a really cute game and now that I understand it better it’s a nice way to relax for a little bit.

And that’s about it for now! I hope you all have a wonderful week and I’ll see you tomorrow for my thrift shopping book haul. I found some exciting goodies while I was out last week!
