Thrift Shopping Book Haul

Hello reader friends! It’s been a while since I went to the thrift shop in my neighborhood and so I decided to take a trip last Thursday after work. It’s a very nicely run secondhand store with a great clothing section, and a decent book section as well. They have the books organized by section and so it’s easy to find what you’re looking for.

I wound up finding a lot of great books, but I only wound up bringing home four.

The Matchmaker by Elin Hilderbrand

My best friend Emily is the one who first got me into Elin Hilderbrand. I first read The Hotel Nantucket a year ago, and now I’m slowly but surely catching up on Elin’s backlist. After reading the summary for this one I’m intrigued, but also a little nervous. I really enjoy Elin’s books but don’t really care for the books that have cheating in them.

Here’s to Us by Elin Hilderbrand

Another book I am curious about, but also find confusing. Were all of the women married to the man at the same time, like a polygamist kind of deal? Or were they all married to him at different times. The book description isn’t specific enough. Lol.

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig

I’ve actually read this one already. My friend Jenn recommended it a while back so I checked it out from the library. It’s a story that really stayed with me and made me think. So I was really excited to find a hardback copy on the shelves. I’ve been wanting my own physical copy for my shelves and now this gives me a chance to re-read it.

The Office: The Untold Story of the Greatest Sitcom of the 2000s: An Oral History by Andy Greene

I think this may actually be an audiobook that was also published in paper form. Andy Greene is a writer for Rolling Stone who compiled stories and information about The Office to give fans a behind the scenes look into the series.

I love The Office (who doesn’t? except my brother Brendan I’m pretty sure) so when I saw the price I scooped this up right away. I’ll make sure to let you know how it is!

Did I need to buy new books right now? Not necessarily. I do have a lot on my plate. But I’m going to be heading to the beach soon so I’m going to want to have plenty of options for when I’m sitting in the sand, relaxing and enjoying the ocean breeze.
