My 2026 January TBR List

Welcome to the new year! I’m so happy to have made it to 2026. There are so many good things to look forward to, which includes lots of new books to read. In today’s blog post, I’ll be sharing my 2026 January TBR List.

What is on my 2026 January TBR List?

Here is a list of the books that I would like to read this month! If I don’t manage to read them all, I will add them on to my next month’s tbr list.

Salt, Sweat & Steam: The Fiery Education of an Accidental Chef

This memoir by Brigid Washington tells her story of attending America’s top culinary school. She takes readers behind the scenes of what it’s really like, and how much work it is. I love to read about chefs and cooking and so I was excited to be approved for an ARC through Netgalley. The publishing date is in April so I hope to finish this during January so that I can think about it for a while before writing my review.

A Nantucket Fling

I think I requested this one from Netgalley solely because it had Nantucket in the title. Haha. I’ve been reading a bunch of Elin Hilderbrand over the past 2 years and so Nantucket just seems like this magical island that I dream of visiting someday.

Anyway, this is a romance novel about two very different people who develop an attraction (and a fling) over the Summer. Olivia is visiting Nantucket for a family wedding, while Connor lives there full time while working at a restaurant. But Summer always ends and their lives are completely different. There’s no way that they could make things work… Or is there?

This is coming out in June so I’m hoping to read it early and ponder it for a while before writing my review. My best reviews come when I think about the story for a while and let it marinate. Lol.

Payback

I don’t really know a lot about prison. Basically what I’ve seen in Orange is the New Black. Ha. So this one sounds interesting. At a minimum security prison facility in Los Angeles, there are a variety of people staying there. But when there’s a power outage and one of the security guards winds up dead, everybody must band together to figure out what happened and who the murderer is.

It sounds like it will be a good mix of comedy and mystery which is why I have this one on my list.

Alcott Hall

It’s been a while since I’ve read a historical romance, so I’m looking forward to this one by Emily Rath. It’s the 3rd book in the series so I’m picking it up a little late, but it’s why choose regency romance which sounds very fun. I’ll update you more once I start reading this one and have a better idea what the story is about.

The Artist’s Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity

I was at Barnes & Noble the other week and picked this one up. It’s a book that I’ve wanted to read for a while. If you’ve ever heard of “morning pages” where you sit down and write in your journal everyday, I believe that idea comes from this book by Julia Cameron.

I don’t think I’ll be able to finish it this month. It’s pretty long and I don’t know if it’s like you read it all at once or if it’s kind of like a workbook that you work through. But either way, I’m planning to at least start it in January.

And a few honorary mentions:
