Free Printable Fitness Calendar to Track Monthly Exercise

Working in an office can be a sedentary job, so one of my new year’s resolutions for this year was to increase my daily movement. But I wasn’t sure how to approach my goal. After some consideration, I realized that I would attack this goal how I always do, which is through planning.

What is a Printable Fitness Calendar?

A printable fitness calendar is a calendar that you can print out to track your daily exercise and movement throughout the month. On the left hand side you can list the different kinds of exercise you participate. Some people like to run. Some people like to do cross fit. And others may stick to easier fitness tasks like walking the dog.

In my example (below), I assigned a color to each exercise and then made a marking on the day that I participated in that activity. That way at the end of the month I can look back at the month and easily evaluate my workout info, like how many days was I active and what activities did I participate in the month.

I learned a long time ago how difficult it is to know what your habits are when you don’t keep track of them, and I think a lot of people are in the same boat. As an example, a couple of years ago I was going through a hard time and started gaining weight. When I started tracking my workouts in my planner and tracking my calories in the Lose It app, I was shocked to find out that I was hardly working out and eating way above my daily calorie limit.

Situations like these are natural! The way that I fixed this was buy starting to track my habits and make changes to my daily life from there.

Some benefits to tracking your Fitness are:

  • You can figure out what kind of exercise you really love! For instance, I have a membership to orange theory fitness but because it’s expensive, I can only afford to go 1 day a week. Then I plan the rest of my schedule from there. By looking at my month and seeing how many times I do other workouts, like going on a walk outside or lifting weights at my regular gym, I can figure out what I truly love and want to do more of.
  • It’s also helpful to find out what exercises you don’t like as much. Sometimes, we don’t like certain things even though they are good for us! So if you find yourself slacking, maybe it’s time to mix up your schedule and try something new.
  • It can help you come up with a workout plan for weight loss
