August Reading Wrap Up

August has come to a close and I’m having fun finishing up my Summer reading and planning for Fall. In this post I’ll be sharing my August reading wrap up and in upcoming posts I’ll be sharing some of my future reading plans. But for now, here are my stats for the month of August.

August Reading Wrap Up

What Books did I Read in August?

  1. Mischief Nights are Murder by Libby Klein
  2. Murder by Page One by Olivia Matthews
  3. Same Time Next Summer by Annabel Monaghan
  4. The Here and Now by Ann Brashares
  5. The 5-Star Weekend by Elin Hilderbrand

Breakdown by Type

In the month of August I read 2 eBooks and 3 audiobooks.

I’ve always like listening to audiobooks, but I’ve been trying to dial into them more because one of my goals lately is to walk more! I signed up for a walking challenge on Strava to walk 50k during the month of August. I’m not sure if I’ll make it because I’ve been forgetting to track my walks (lol) but it’s certainly been helping me get more reading done, so that’s good.

Breakdown by Genre

  • 2 Cozy Mysteries
  • 1 Beach Reads
  • 1 Young Adult

My Thoughts

It was a good month! I read a couple of books this month that completely filled my cup & made me very happy. One of them was Mischief Nights are Murder by Libby Klein. This is cozy mystery that takes place in Cape May, New Jersey during Halloween, and the haunted hi jinx and small town charm were just what I wanted. Add in a lot of unusual characters and it was a mystery that kept me guessing and laughing.

The other book I really enjoyed was The 5-Star Weekend by Elin Hilderbrand. I was so excited when my hold came in on Libby because The Hotel Nantucket was awesome and I knew this one would be too. The characters were unique and it was a fun book. I really enjoy the detail that Elin Hilderbrand takes with all of her stories. This story was about a food blogger who hosts a weekend getaway for some of her friends and it was really fun to read about her homemaking and cooking and party planning, even if the weekend didn’t exactly go as planned.

Coming up next is Love Lettering and Georgie All Along by Kate Claybourn. These are both books that I received review copies of from Netgalley so I will be reading them and then reviewing them here on the blog. I’m working hard to get my approval rating back up to the 80% where it belongs.

I also plan to read some Fall themed cozy mysteries during the month of September so make sure you stay tuned for my upcoming TBR post.
