August 2026 Reading Wrap Up

Hello readers! August has been a very eventful month of my life. I’ve been busy with wedding prep and I also managed to read quite a few books over the last 30 days. In today’s post I’ll be sharing my August 2026 Reading Wrap Up.

Safari Murder Party by Rachel Moore

This was a wild read! It’s about an executive assistant who wants desperately to be invited on a corporate retreat with her company. She’s so desperate that she invites herself. But when they arrive on the island where the event is happening, the mood changes. And in the course of a day, the rules change. It’s no longer a corporate retreat. It’s a fight for your life as everyone tries to be the last one standing.

Girl’s Girl by Sonia Feldman

This book was so sweet. It’s a coming of age story about 3 teenage friends, and the different ways their relationships change over the course of a Summer. It has such a nostalgic feel to it. I loved the writing style and felt like the author perfectly captured Girlhood.

One Moment Please by Amy Daws

This was so funny and cute. It’s about a woman who goes to the ER after injuring herself. But while she’s there, she finds out that she’s three months pregnant. And oh yeah, the Dr. who is treating her is the father. This one really worked for me because of how different the two main characters are. I loved how gruff and serious Josh was, compared to how sweet and caring Lynsey was.

The Pumpkin Pie Book Nook by Harper Graham

The latest installment in the Maple Falls series by Harper Graham. I liked this one a lot because of the cozy fall vibes. I also really enjoyed the backstories of both Tyler and Robin. It was very fun to have so many literary themes woven into this small town romance novel. Maple Falls really gives me Stars Hollow vibes in the best way.

The Cozy Nook Bookshop by Jeannie Chin

This is also a fall themed small town romance novel. When Emma and Hunter meet at the crossing of Hope Street and Heart Street, the whole town is convinced that they are soulmates. But it will take a while to convince the two of them that it’s true. It wasn’t my favorite read of the month, but I did like the plot set up. Plus the cover is very adorable! It really caught my eye.

Girls Our Age by Phoebe Thompson

Girls our Age is the story of three friends who first met in college. They were roommates their freshman year and formed an incredibly bond. Now it’s ten years later and the 3 of them are eaching working through their own issues. But as Lily’s wedding quickly approaches, they all start to reexamine their lives and consider the choices of their twenties. I thought this book was super relatable. It made me think a lot about my own twenties and how now that I’m almost 35, things are so different!

How to Kill a Crime Writer by Sarah Lotz

After her besteslling author mother is found dead, Niamh moves into her house to deal with her grief. She also has to take care of the aftermath. But she can’t quite bring herself to clean out her mother’s attic office, That’s where she wrote her bestselling crime series. But when a copy of her mother’s last manuscript arrives on her doorsteps, weird things start happening. And Niamh starts to wonder if there’s more to her mother’s death than meets the eye.

I liked this one a lot. I’m not going to go too in depth with my thoughts because it’s probably better to read fresh. But if you like mysteries, I would definitely recommend this one.
