January 2026 Reading Wrap Up
January has been a bit of a stressful month, but I did manage to get a lot of reading done! I’m trying to fit it in when I can. I take my kindle to work and read a little bit during my lunch break. And I try to read for 20-30 minutes before bed, if I don’t fall asleep immediately.
More often that not, I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow. Lol. So most of my reading is done earlier in the day!
So let’s get into my reading wrap up for January 2026. I can’t wait to tell you about the books that I was able to finish this month.

The Storm
Rachel Hawkins has become one of my favorite thriller/mystery writers so I was really looking forward to this one. It did not disappoint. I liked how it was told through dual timelines and I was definitely surprised by some of the story. Part of the story made me think of Where the Crawdads Sing, so I found it very enjoyable.
My Husband’s Wife
This thriller was a little confusing at times, but it was so good. I was hooked from the very first chapter. I had to know what was going to happen next! There were almost too many twists and it was a little hard to follow at times but it was all worth it. This was my first time reading something by Alice Feeney, but now I’m really excited to check out the rest of her books.
Such Sheltered Lives
This wasn’t my favorite book, to be honest. I liked the idea of it. It’s about a a group of people who go to stay at Rush’s Recovery, a celebrity rehab center. The three main characters each have their own issue that they are working through.
But with the way that the story was told, I just didn’t feel super connected to any of the characters. I think it would have been better if the story was told through just two points of view – Amelia Blue and Florence Bloom. Their stories were the most interesting.
Paper Cut
I liked this one a lot! I listened to the audiobook and the narrator was very good. It’s about a woman named Lucy Golden who managed to escape a cult when she was just 16 years old. She became popular when she wrote a book about her experience and now as an adult she works in true crime, but is fighting to stay relevant. When she agrees to be a part of a documentary, she must face the past and try to keep some of her darkest secrets hidden.
The Clique
I re-read this book for a new series I’m starting called Flashback Fiction, where I revisit books that I read during childhood. I’m surprised by this book to be honest. Haha. I forgot how… mean it is. Like, the bullying of Claire is really harsh and it makes me uncomfortable. But I’ll share more of my thoughts in an upcoming blog post.
Alcott Hall
Loved this one. It’s a historical Why Choose romance, and I’ve realized that’s one of my favorite romance tropes. Lol. It’s about Lady Madeline Blaire, who ventures to Alcott Hall in the hopes of finding a husband. She has two weeks to marry or she’ll lose out on an inheritance that is rightfully hers. It’s a story that is adorable, and also very funny. Highly recommend if you’re a Bridgerton fan!
