My 2025 Reading Journal Setup | Digital Planning Ideas
Reading and writing are two of my favorite hobbies, which is why I like to keep a reading journal every year. It’s important to me to be able to look back at my journal and remember what authors I enjoyed and which books were my favorites. So in today’s blog post I’m going to be sharing my 2025 Reading Journal Setup with you. I hope it
Many people start their reading journals right as the new year starts. But don’t wait until next year! If you haven’t started yet, there’s plenty of time to catch up. Whether you use dot grid journal, bullet journal, or iPad there are so many ways to get creative and express yourself.

What Digital Reading Journal Do I Use?
I use this reading journal by Flourish Planner. It has just enough structure to keep me organized, but I can also add my own embellishments and stickers to my journal pages. I love her designs and have a couple of her planner products that I use in my everyday life. Maybe I’ll make a blog post about that next!
What Digital Planning Tools do I Use?
I have a couple of tools that I use for my digital planning.
- my ipad
- apple pencil
- this ipad case
- Goodnotes App

Cover Page
Right now I’m using one of the premade covers that my reading journal came with. But you can also make your own and import them into Goodnotes.

Monthly Reads
This is where I track all of the books that I read during the month. Depending on how busy I am, I fill it in throughout the month or I complete it after the month is over. It just depends on the month.

My Bookshelf
This is where I add the covers of the different books that I read during the month. I’m a visual person so it makes me happy to see all of the books there together.

Book Reviews
I like to keep a short review of every book that I read. Because when you read a lot of books, it’s sometimes hard to remember them all. I like being able to go back through my records and remember which books I read during which year. I write a little about each book as well as give each book a star rating.
Things I Want to Add to my Reading Journal
I really like the reading journal that I purchased from Flourish Planner, but there are a few pages that I hope to add to it by the end of the year. Here are a few examples.
- Reading Lists – There’s a reading list section and I hope to add a few different lists there. I’d like to use this planner to track my Kindle Unlimited reads as well as my review copies from NetGalley.
- Year-End Reflection – It would be nice to have a place to collect all my thoughts at the end of this year, so I’m going to create a pdf to add at the end.
- Stats Page – I’d like to have a place to track my stats and compare this year to last year. Some of the things I’ll be tracking is number of books, format of books. I go on a lot of walks and listen to audiobooks so reflecting on my physical books vs my audiobooks would be very interesting.

In Conclusion
Thanks so much for stopping my and checking out my reading journal set-up for this year. Journaling is such a relaxing hobby for me because I get to spend some time on my own and reflect on my reading goals. I hope getting to see my 2025 reading journal setup inspired you to read more books and start a journal of your own!
