Visiting the Garden District Book Shop in New Orleans
A few weeks ago, Dave and I visited New Orleans for a wedding with friends. It was a really wonderful trip. We had so much fun exploring the city and celebrating the marriage of A&A. We stayed in an Airbnb with a group of friends, and had a great time riding the streetcar to explore different areas of New Orleans.
The wedding was on Saturday. We went to breakfast at Humble Bagel, and then we had a few hours to kill before we had to get ready for the wedding. While our friends stayed behind to rest, Dave and I ventured out to do some exploring. I knew that I wanted to visit a local bookstore before we had to leave on Sunday.

Although there were a couple of options that we could get to by streetcar, we decided to head to the Garden District Book Shop.
I had no idea what to expect. I wasn’t sure whether they sold new, used, or just New Orleans related books. But when we got to The Rink, it seemed like a fun place to hang out!

The store is very inviting. The colors and the lighting really made the store pop! I was immediately drawn to the shelves when we walked in. I had a lot of fun looking around at the different shelves and displays.
Of course I had to check out the romance section! That is one of my favorite genres, after all. I was pleasantly surprised to see that a lot of my favorite authors were present. Plus there were a lot of other neat sounding books that I wanted to add to my TBR List.

Although I don’t really need any more books, it would have felt wrong to leave a bookstore without a souvenir! I decided to purchase two cozy mysterys from their New Orleans section. These are the first two books in the Vintage Cookbook Mystery Series by Ellen Byron.
I’ve been wanting to get invested in a new-to-me cozy mystery series, and this one will be just perfect.

I hope that you enjoyed today’s blog post. I just wanted to share some of my bookish adventures from my New Orleans trip. I had a lot of fun visiting the Garden District Book Shop. When we left, it was close enough to magazine st that we could walk a couple of blocks and keep exploring.
I’m currently working on my junk journal from the trip. I have so many photos, postcards, and ephemera to organize. Make sure you bookmark this page and check back soon for a full look at my junk journal spreads.
