What is So Wrong by Abby Milsaps About?
A steamy fake dating football romance from bestselling author Abby Millsaps.
No wrong moves.
I wish I would’ve known that those whispered words from my first love, Greedy, would be a bad omen I couldn’t escape.
Every move I’ve made since I returned to South Chapel hurts my ex-boyfriend, Greedy. But it’s for his benefit. That’s what I tell myself. Intentionally hurting him is for the best.
Three years have passed, but that doesn’t matter to Greedy. He’s hell-bent on making sure I remember it all. Torturing me with memories of us and punishing me for what we could have been.
On my darkest nights, the memories win. Since his bedroom is just two doors down, he’s the anchor I seek when it all feels like too much.
But now Greedy’s best friend, Levi, is back in town. And in order to protect him from his meddling mom, he and I are “fake dating.” To further complicate matters, not only is Levi my new pretend boyfriend, but he’s also our new roommate, too.
One House. Two gorgeous guys. A world of secrets between us.
How did everything that once felt so right, now feel so wrong? (from Amazon.com)

My Initial Thoughts
As I mentioned earlier, I was able to read this book as part of my kindle unlimited subscription. I checked it out because I’ve always been a fan of why choose romances and enjoyed the eye catching pink cover. I don’t always love it when stories are told in two time periods: the past and the present. And I also don’t always love reading the guy’s perspective. And this book has chapters from both Greedy and Levi’s points of view! So while I was a little skeptical of this first book in the Boys of South Chapel series, I actually wound up really enjoying it.
It’s an angsty romance, but the emotions between all of the characters feel realistic and not overdone. I really liked Hunter, Greedy, and Levi. So it’s safe to say that the emotional damage that some of them have is heart breaking. I just want them all to be happy and in love. Lol.
The Main Characters
Hunter – At the beginning, she’s a high school cheerleading captain with trouble at home. Her parents are going through a bad divorce. Her Dad lives elsewhere with his new wife and kids. Her Mom lives with her at home, although she’s barely ever home. Hunter’s Mom is a little bit difficult. She meets Greedy and Levi (a pair of best friends) at the end of her senior year. They go to a different school but they both play football. She begins dating Greedy and the three of them become very good friends.
Greedy – Greedy is a high school football player. He and Levi grew up together and are really good friends. He takes an interest in Hunter right away after they meet. They spend their graduation weekend and summer after high school together, until unfortunate circumstances tear them apart.
Levi – Levi is also a football player. He grew up with an abusive father and a meddling mother. Greedy helped to look out for him when things with his family got too bad. At the end of the summer he went off to college in California to play football.
The Past vs. The Present
As I mentioned earlier, I don’t always love when a story is told partially in present day and partially in the past. I think that’s because a lot of times it’s not necessary. But in this book it did feel necessary. The chapters that place in the past build up the backstory for how Hunter, Greedy, and Levi all became such good friends. I really enjoyed all of these characters and so I liked getting to know them better in that way.
You’ll Like This Book If You Like:
- Why choose? relationships
- relatable and authentic characters
- not so relatable plotlines (but I think that’s what makes this story so fun lol)
- fake dating
- mental health rep
Will I Read The Rest of This Series?
As long as the other two books are available in Kindle Unlimited, I think I will. Book 1 ends with a bit of a cliffhanger and I was like okay… I am dying to find out what happens yet. It’s a bit of an emotional bombshell and so I’m going to need to read it asap.
What Else Has Abby Millsaps Written?
Abby Millsaps is known for a couple of series: Hampton Hearts, Boys of South Chapel, and the Boys of Lake Chapel series. It sounds like the last two series are interconnected because Boys of Lake Chapel features Joey, who just so happens to be the best friend of Hunter St. Clair
In Conclusion
Thanks so much for checking out my full review of So Wrong by Abby Millsaps. I found this to be a very enjoyable contemporary steamy second chance romance. The plot was very angsty but not in an annoying way. It make me really feel for these characters that I got to know throughout the story. I’m looking forward to checking out the next books in the series soon.
