So I was very excited when I heard she was coming out with another piece of adult fiction. Today I’m going to be sharing my Enchanted To Meet You book review, which is the perfect witchy chick lit to read during the Fall season as Halloween approaches.

So if you’re looking for your next witchy rom-com read then you’ve come to exactly the right place. Keep reading my Enchanted To Meet You book review for all the details on Meg Cabot’s latest book release.
What is Enchanted To Meet You by Meg Cabot About?
A witchy rom-com from New York Times bestseller Meg Cabot about a plus size witch who must team up with a handsome stranger to help protect her village from an otherworldly force—but will she be able to protect her heart?
It’s Magic When You Meet Your Match
In her teenage years, lovelorn Jessica Gold cast a spell that went disastrously wrong, and brought her all the wrong kind of attention—as well as a lifetime ban from the World Council of Witches.
So no one is more surprised than Jess when, fifteen years later, tall, handsome WCW member Derrick Winters shows up in her quaint little village of West Harbor and claims that Jess is the Chosen One.
She’s the Chosen One
Not chosen by West Harbor’s snobby elite to style them for the town’s tricentennial ball—though Jess owns the chicest clothing boutique in town. And not chosen finally to be on the WCW, either—not that Jess would have said yes, anyway, since she’s done with any organization that tries to dictate what makes a “true” witch.
No, Jess has been chosen to help save West Harbor itself . . .
As Summer Ends, Her Power Grows
But just when Jess is beginning to think that she and Derrick might have a certain magic of their own—and not of the supernatural variety—Jess learns he may not be who she thought he was.
And suddenly Jess finds herself having to make another kind of choice: trust Derrick and work with him to combat the sinister force battling to bring down West Harbor, or use her gift as she always has: to keep herself, and her heart, safe.

My Initial Thoughts
I’ve always loved Meg Cabot since I first read the Princess Diaries Series. She’s basically chick-lit royalty. So when I first heard about this book I had a feeling I was going to enjoy it.
Enchanted to Meet You is an adorable paranormal rom-com featuring a young woman named Jess who never left her hometown. She lives a comfortable life as a business owner and has a great group of friends, some of who she grew up with and others who are newer to the group. Her small coastal town is what she’s used to so when Derrick shows up at her shop someday, she knows something is up.
At first I wasn’t sure about the witch aspect of this story but as we learned more about Jess’ history with magic and her failed love spell from high school, I found myself getting more into the story. Some of the scenes between Jess and grown up Billy made me laugh. But that’s one of the things I love most about Meg Cabot’s many books. Her books always make me smile, like when Jess and Derrick accompany her best friend Dina and the others to trivia night. What a wild night. Lol.
Why is Enchanted To Meet You the perfect Fall Read?
Enchanted To Meet You by Meg Cabot is a great fall read because of the subject matter and because of the storylines. Here. I’ll make a list and show you.
- It’s a witchy story with so many magical elements, like casting spells and learning to control magic.
- It takes place during Fall and ends on Halloween night.
- It takes place in a small town and has a townful of quirky characters charms. Small towns during autumn always give me cozy fall vibes. Think Stars Hollow from Gilmore Girls and all their fall activities.
Is Enchanted to Meet You Part of a series?
Online Enchanted to Meet You is described as book #1 in the Witches of West Harbor series by best-selling Cabot. I’ve looked around and haven’t been able to find any announcements about any more books, but a second book in the series may be in the works. I will update this post once I have more information. But I feel like Enchanted to Meet You was a successful series launch so I hope we get at least a few more books about this magical and goofy town.
In Conclusion
If you are also a Meg Cabot fan, I think you will enjoy this book. Per usual, Enchanted to Meet You features a funny cast of characters and is witchy delight to read. I really enjoyed Jess and Derrick as they worked to try to save the town and I can’t wait to find out what happens in the next installment.
If you’re looking for a super magical fantasy type book, this may not be what you’re looking for. The magic concepts are very loose. Jess is more of a cottage witch and teaches herself things on her own. She has a book that she came into possession of when she was just a teenager. But even thought the magic isn’t super original, it’s still a good story. It has good plot points and all of the ever-delightful cabot charms.
I wound understand if the next book doesn’t come out for a while. It was announced not that long ago that there would be a third Princess Diaries movie. Meg might be busy with that. But it would be fun if it came out in the Fall. I’d love another West Harbor story to enjoy leading up to Halloween, even if it does feature different characters.
But wait, there’s more!
