10 Halloween Cozy Mysteries available in Kindle Unlimited

As a member of Kindle Unlimited, I am always scouring their shelves to see what books are available for me to read with my membership! Lately I’ve been on the search for Halloween Cozy Mysteries that are available in Kindle Unlimited.

I’m a voracious reader and if I didn’t have the Kindle Unlimited membership, I would be tempted to spend so much money on books every month. But luckily, with KU I don’t have too.

One of my favorite things about being a cozy mystery reader is that there seem to be books for every season, category, hobby, and even Holiday! Which is why now that it’s almost Fall I’m getting ready for all the Autumn and Halloween themed reads.

Halloween Cozy Mysteries available in Kindle Unlimited

Here are some fun Halloween themed Cozy Mysteries that I have on my Kindle Unlimited To Be Read List. And if you aren’t a KU member, what are you waiting for? Sign up for Kindle Unlimited here.

Please Note: All authors have the right to enroll/unenroll their books in Kindle Unlimited at any time, so while these books were available in KU in August of 2023, they may not be available anymore if you’re reading this blog post at a later time.

A Halloween Homicide by Tonya Kappes

A Halloween Homicide by Tonya Kappes is book 3 in the Holiday Cozy Mystery series. I recently started listening to the audiobook and it’s really cute. It takes place in the small town of Holiday Junction where main character Violet Rhinehammer has a very important job. She’s supposed to participate in all the Halloween activities around town and report on them for Junction Journal, the local paper.

One of Violet’s first activities is to go on a ghost walk, which she is not super excited for. She’s not really a fan of the spooky stuff. So far I’m loving the setting of this story. I can’t wait to find out what happens as Violet’s Halloween festivities continue.

Halloween at the Haunted House by Cindy Bell

I’ll be honest, the first thing I noticed about this book is the adorable pups on the cover! They remind me of my own puppy Hazel. But anyway, Halloween at the Haunted House is about Maddie, who gets involved with a murder when her bakery has a last minute order to deliver cupcakes to the documentary crew that is filming at the haunted B&B in town.

However, this isn’t the first time a dead body has turned up at the B&B. It is haunted, after all. It’s up to Maddie to solve the mystery before the body count at this local establishment grows even higher.

Black Licorice Larceny by Courtney Flagg

(Although this one isn’t released until October 3, 2023)

Black Licorice Larceny is described as a short read with a release date coming soon. This story takes place at Candyland Confections in the small town of Woodville, where Emma, the owner of the candy shop discovers that the prize for the local haunted house content has disappeared. Seems odd, huh?

Emma and her sister Lilly must go through all of the entries and deal with all of the participants to find out the truth about what happened. This is the first book in a new series!

Halloween at Pumpkin Hill by Thea Gambert

Halloween at Pumpkin Hill is the seventh book in the Inn Vermont Cozy Mysteries series. The small town of Williamsbridge, Vermont is having their annual Spookfest Celebation. Pumpkin Hill is decorated with Jack o’ Lanterns and the Inn owners are prepared for the festivities. But when a body is found while admiring the downtown decorations, everyone is scared. But when it’s revealed that the person died by murder and not by natural causes, Eloise and Matthew must work together to solve the mystery.

Killer Halloween Cookies by Patti Benning

In Killer Halloween Cookies by Patti Benning, Lilah Fallon finds a seasonal job at a local farm. But things aren’t as peaceful as they might seem. She unexpectedly witnesses a murder and after feeling guilt for not doing anything to stop it, she decides that she will investigate and find out the truth.

The description on Amazon doesn’t give away very much, but I have a feeling she’ll have to turn to her friends and family to help her solve the case!

Murder on Halloween by Steve Demaree

Murder on Halloween is the thirteenth book in the Dekker Cozy Mystery Series. That seems very fitting for a Halloween mystery, right?

This story is about a retired detective. He thinks he’ll just be handing out candy to trick or treaters on Halloween, but later on in the evening he received a call from his former Chief of Police because he and his former partner vowed to come back if they were ever needed to solve a murder case again.

The description says that there are lots of twists and turns, and humor, so this mystery sounds right up my alley.

Harvest and Haunt by Eva Belle

Harvest and Haunt is the first book in the Autumn Cozy Paranormal Mystery series and I’m so excited about it! It first came out in 2021 so I’ve really been missing out these past two years. This series is based in the sleepy town of Cape Mystic, Washington. It’s a collection of short stories which you can find out more about here.

The Inn at Holiday Bay: Pawn in the Pumpkin Patch by Kathi Daley

Abby is new to Holiday Bay, Maine and she finds that her newly purchased mansion comes with many perks. She has inherited a cat and a dog, and a drifter named Georgia. This is book 20 in the series so as you can imagine, Abby has been through a lot so far.

In this Halloween story, Abby, Georgia, and Jeremy have worked hard to create multiple Halloween events for the Inn to host, in conjunction with some of the other businesses in town. But when a body is found hidden in the pumpkin patch, their plans must quickly change in order to solve the case.

Pineapple Mystery Box: A Halloween Cozy Mystery by Amy Vansant

How cute is the dog on this cover? Haha. Pineapple Mystery Box is the 2nd book in the Pineapple Port series by Amy Vansant. In it a blow up witch goes missing from the local retirement home, and our main character Charlotte Morgan is on the case. But before she has time to do anything about it, someone threatens to kill a new neighbor. I’m not sure I quite understand the description but it sounds interesting enough. I wonder if this whole series takes place in a retirement community. That could be really something!

Death of a Pumpkin Carver by Lee Hollis

Death of a Pumpkin Carver is book number 8 in the Hayley Powell Food and Cocktails mystery series. I’ve read a couple of the books in this series and I really like Hayley as a protagonist so I can’t wait to check this book out. Hayley is a food and cocktail columnist for the local paper, Island Times. This Halloween her ex husband comes back to town for a visit, but when his uncle is found dead and he’s the main suspect, Hayley must work to help him clear his name.
