I’ve been looking forward to sharing my Book of the Month picks for January, but I unfortunately lost my phone over the weekend. At this point it is still lost in the abyss. I’ve spend hours and hours scouring the house, the car, and the last store I was at but no luck. :(

Feeling thankful to have a new phone now. It was unfortunately not backed up and find my iPhone did not work so maybe it will turn up someday! Or maybe it won’t. We might never know.

Anyway... I had my normal credit this month as well as my BIRTHDAY credit, so I picked two books this month.

The Future Saints sounds awesome! The description reminds me a little bit of Daisy Jones and the Six so I’m really looking forward to this one, which is about a band who is falling apart after the death of their manager.

And Most Eligible sounds very fun because it’s about a journalist who goes undercover on a dating show. I love books about reality TV (a la The Really Dead Wives of New Jersey) so this one sounds right up my alley.

I’m not difficult to please when it comes to book to movie adaptations. I generally like them all. But this one felt special. I’ve been working my way through Will This Make You Happy by Tanya Bush, a memoir about learning to bake and all of the time and energy it takes.

And honestly, reading about all of the cookies and cakes makes me hungry. Haha. Good thing it’s Christmas so I can do a little Christmas baking of my own.

I love a good memoir. My favorites are those written (or ghostwritten) by celebrities, but I’m willing to give anything a chance.

There are so many good ones coming out in 2026, so it was really hard to narrow my list down to just 5.

1) Ryan O’Connell was one of my favorite writers when I used to read Thought Catalog and I loved his first book & show I’m Special.
2) I like comedy and so this one sounded interesting.
3) As a Girls fan, I’m always curious about Lena’s new projects.
4) A book about the origins of a book store? Sign me up. I want to learn more.
5) I received an arc of this one from Netgalley and I am so so excited to dive in. But I have to finish my December TBR first.

Do you like memoirs or have any recs? Let me know! I also have my eye on Christina Applegate’s book which comes out next year.
