I baked a cake this weekend! 🎂 I was a little nervous because it took a lot longer to bake than the recipe said, but it turned out well. Added a little sprinkle of powdered sugar for pizazz 😂 the recipe is from a @inagarten cookbook of my Mom’s #baking #cookbooks #barefootcontessa #cookbook #poundcake

My book of the month pick this month is Dissection

My book of the month pick this month is Dissection of a Murder by Jo Murray! I hadn’t heard of this one before but the title really caught my attention.

It’s about a lawyer who is in for a very interesting predicament when the defendant is dead set (pun intended) on having her defend him. Meanwhile, she’s up against a ruthless prosecutor who just happens to be her husband 😬 Sounds like a very interesting case to me!

For my add on I picked Happiness & Love by Zoe Dubno. The cover made me laugh but I thought the plots sounded weird and fun. That’s what I’m hoping for 😂

I teased it the other day, but here are the books that I got in New Orleans. They had a section of the store with books about New Orleans and I’ve been wanting to start a new cozy mystery series, so it was fate! ✨

These are the first two books in the Vintage Cookbook Mysteries series by Ellen Byron. I have Bayou Book Thief next on my TBR (after I finish Helpless (kindle) and Project Hail Mary (paperback)) so I will share my thoughts in May or June at some point.
