Almost Ravaged by Abby Millsaps | Men of Evercrisp Orchard
I read a why choose romance last year by Abby Millsaps, so she’s been showing up on my Amazon ever since then. I was intrigued by the cover of Almost Ravaged and decided to check it out. It was available in Kindle Unlimited and so I thought, what the heck? And I’m so glad I did! It was such a fun book to read and I immediately started reading book 2 after I was done. So if you’re a fan of why choose romances (with a touch of hockey, as well as darkness) I think you’ll want to read my full review of Almost Ravaged by Abby Millsaps.

What is Almost Ravaged by Abby Millsaps About?
They say you never forget your first love.
What they don’t say is how hard it is to move on when he happens to be the trifecta: a brooding hockey player, your brother’s best friend, AND the keeper of your darkest secret.
I spent three years trying to get over Tytus Tremblay, only to slingshot right back into his orbit when we’re reunited at Holt University.
But Tytus isn’t the only man on my radar anymore.
I have a new enemy in the form of Mercer Eden, an arrogant, condescending professor almost twice my age who happens to be my boss. Then there’s his sweet, bashful best friend, Noah Henry, the owner of Evercrisp Orchard.
The pleasure Mercer and Noah offer me—individually, and together—is the primal distraction I live for. It just might be what I need to finally forget my first love and move on with my life.
But then Tytus makes a life-altering choice that affects us all, and one thing becomes abundantly clear: he never plans to let me go. (from Amazon.com)
My Initial Thoughts
This is the first book in a college hockey trilogy and I have to say… I really liked it! I knew what I was getting myself into because I read the book description (and the trigger warnings) but it was different than I thought. author Abby Millsaps created some male leads who were so different, and yet all so wonderful.
Except Tyson. He sucks. But we’ll get into that when I discuss the second book in the trilogy, Almost Rotten.
As I was saying… Almost Ravaged is the first book in the Men of Evercrisp Orchard series and so there is a lot of set up. We learn about the tight bond that Sawyer, Atty, and Tytus have because of growing up together. As young adults they experienced something traumatic which bonded them for life. And although Sawyer considers Tytus to be like another brother to her, there’s also an attraction that neither of them is ready to admit.
Time jump to a couple of years later when the three of them are headed to college together. Sawyer is in a master’s program while the boys are freshmen who are brought in to play on the hockey team. Sawyer is ready to work hard and enjoy campus life. But on the first day of school is where things get very interesting.
The Thing About This Book…
Is that it’s a Why Choose romance with three very different male leads. There’s Tytus, the foster brother and best friend. There’s Mercer, professor and professional grump. And then there’s Noah, a sweet man just trying to keep his business afloat while dealing with grief.
I like how different they all are, and I really enjoyed the tension between Tytus and Mercer in class. What’s not to love about feuding men? Lol. But then Tytus had to go and ruin it all. And I’m just so annoyed. Maybe he’ll be better in the next book?
Is Almost Ravaged by Abby Millsaps spicy?
Absolutely. This is a dark romance so make sure you read the trigger warnings in the beginning. Some of the scenes between Mercer and Sawyer were really wild, in the best possible way. But they were also sweet too. Everyone in this book has emotional baggage and it was nice to see how getting to know Sawyer really opened Mercer up.
I loved the Depiction of Campus Life
I really enjoyed author Abby Millsap’s depiction of college life in this story. I liiked Sawyer’s friends that she made at the skating rink on campus. I loved the scene at the bar when Sawyer and Mercer run into each other. It’s all just very fun. Maybe I’m just feeling nostalgic for college right now.
When I was in college I took a class where we went off campus a lot to work with a local organization, and it kind of reminded me of the orchard situation with Mercer’s class.
Would I Recommend Almost Ravaged?
Yes, definitely! I really enjoy the Why Choose romance trope because it’s fun and interesting. This book really surprised me because I’ve never read a book where there were 3 different heros. It was different and I appreciated all of the characters in their own way. Until Tytus had to go and ruin it all.
But I don’t want to spoil things so I guess you’re just going to have to read Almost Ravaged by Abby Millsaps and find out for yourself!
In Conclusion
Thank you so much for checking out my book review of Almost Ravaged by Abby Millsaps. I checked it out from Kindle Unlimited after Christmas and it was the perfect book to entertain me during my time off during the holidays.
If you enjoy dark romance or hockey romance, I would suggest checking this series out. It also features academia, fall themes (it does take place at an orchard, after all), and a sassy protagonist.
