Cozy Living: Types of Sweaters to Wear with Leggings
There’s nothing I love more than curling up on the couch with a good book. In fact, it’s one of my favorite things to do on the weekend. But in order to fully enjoy the experience I have to be completely comfortable, which is why today we’re going to be discussing the best sweaters to wear with leggings.
That’s right. In order to fully enjoy myself while I reading, I have to be comfy and cozy. I don’t think that’s too much to ask for. Do you?

Sweaters to Wear With Leggings
Crewneck Sweaters
One type of sweater is the crewneck sweater. I own a lot of these because they are simple and the perfect way to warm up on a cold day. My boyfriend has a thing about not turning the heat on too high in his house, so l love a good quality crewneck to help me warm up. Some of my favorites have come from Old Navy, Amazon, and Wal Mart. You don’t have to find a lot to find something that is cute and comfortable.
I love all of the colors because they look great with my favorite leggings. Those are pretty much the only leggings I own right now because the winter weather ones are so warm and cozy. I will link to my favorite pair of leggings here. They are the perfect choice for comfort.
Cowl Neck Sweaters
When it comes to cozy sweaters, you can’t do better than the cowl neck! These are great because they warm you up and also help keep your neck warm! My favorite is one that my boyfriend recently gifted me from Dick’s Sporting Goods. It’s so cozy and the cream color goes with every color leggings that I have. I also like this one from L.L. Bean. But if you’re looking for some other cozy options, I love this slouchy one on Amazon that comes in multiple colors.
Pullover Sweater
I love pullover sweaters for days when I’ve done my hair and makeup just right and I don’t want to muss it. Whether it’s a sweater with a deep v neck or a sweater that zips up, here are some great options. Land’s End also has a bunch because they are good for keeping you warm while hiking and participating in outdoor activities.
Sweater Dress
A sweater dress is one of the best sweaters because it’s great for multi tasking. You can wear one to hang around home, and you can also dress it up for formal occasions. Pairing a sweater dress with your favorite black leggings is a great way to look stylish and keep warm.
Plus you can still get comfortable while lounging around at home. You can find sweater dresses at many of my favorite retailers like Old Navy, Free People, Ann Taylor, and The Loft. Most come with long sleeves so winter is the perfect time to wear time.
Christmas Sweatshirt/Sweater
Last but not least, we have the Christmas sweaters! I think that having winter and Christmas themed sweaters is a great way to feel festive around the holidays. Whether it has snow flakes, deer, or another festiva accents, Christmas sweaters are the best. I purchase a red one at Ann Taylor last year that is so warm and looks great with leggings. Here are some other cute options:
Long Sweater
To me, the best long sweaters are the ones that are tunic length. They are the perfect way to make a casual outfit a little bit cuter. Oversized Sweater
Oversized sweaters are so comfortable for relaxing, stretching, and lounging around at home. Some of the coziest I tried have been from Aerie. But that’s no surprise. Aerie is known for their great loungewear. Here are some examples if you’re thinking of trying one out.
My top picks are from Aerie and Old Navy, but you can also find some less expensive options at Wal Mart. If you’re looking for a loose fit sweater, those are easy to find in lots of places.
Accessories for Casual Outfits
When you’re having a casual day, it’s good to have your accessories lined up in case you need to head out! I wanted to share my favorite white sneakers and my favorite belt bag for when I need to run out unexpectedly, like to the grocery store or to the gym.

These sweaters are sure to keep you warm and comfortable during sweater weather season. And while it’s great to pair a sweater with skinny jeans when you go out, when you stay in it should be all about being comfortable. No matter what sweater you pick out, it will be a great option to be comfy on colder days.
