Hello friends! I normally prefer to do my grocery shopping on Friday or Saturday so that I can come up with a meal plan, but since I’ll be visiting my parents tomorrow evening I decided to do my shopping tonight.
I’ve been watching a lot of budgeting videos on Youtube and someone who really inspires me is Kelly from Freedom in a Budget. She believes that $100 per person in your household is a good budget for monthly groceries so I decided to take a page from her book and challenge myself to $25 per week.
My past couple of grocery trips have been to Aldi but tonight I decided to do my shopping at Wal Mart because there were a couple of produce things I knew I could get there, like potatoes and sweet potatoes.
Here’s my haul!
Turkey Pepperoni – $2.24 Rice – $1.98 Broccoli – $2.58 Cookie Dough – $1.96 Sweet Potatoes – $2.84 Potatoes – $3.47 Apples – $3.66 Green Onions – $0.88 (x2) Frozen corn – $0.84 Cauliflower – $2.44
That’s not to say that these are the only ingredients that I will be using during my meals this week, but the rest of them will be coming from my cupboard.
On Saturday I will be coming up with a meal plan for the week and doing a clean out of my fridge and taking inventory of my cupboard. What are you shopping for this week?
